IMO, if Rossi feels he has successfully pocketed a few select corporations who believe in his technology he would give a fart about trying to appease the scientific establishment. In fact it's possible that trying to appease them would be counterproductive in the sense that it would draw too much attention to his operations. At this delicate stage of the game Rossi knows he is exceedingly vulnerable since I gather he doesn't have adequate patent protection. Best to let the rest of the world believe he's a scam artist.
