Both do a disservice to the field. WRT overall power and price of their devices they are way over the top of everybody else (several orders of magnitude ) Maybe the US-military fell prey to Rossi, because their budget allows to finance all sorts of strange claims. What is a million? A golden toilet? Or what do You want to buy with such a meager sum? NASA budget, to repeat, allows for 220K$/Yr, and not Mio $ for a 1MW container containing exactly what? What Rossi produces, is mostly hot air. If I had a Rossi-mind, -which I do'nt, but can imagine- I would not have the slightest difficulty to produce hot-air evidences like he does. The numbers would just bubble out of my mouth, if I were the genuinely self-deluded Rossi, or a paid shill of EXXON, to discredit the field. 500$ per unit? no problem COP 6? dito 600deg? if you want, I produce an argumentative bubble Get certifications? no problem, which ones do you like being promoted? Remote watch via internet? (DGT) silly as it is, but sounds modern. Worldwide franchise? (DGT) Who knows. Everything is secret anyway. Secret manufacturing facilities (Rossi)? A necessity for earth-shattering innovations, right? Florida ist just beautiful. Rented two appartments there. Establish a show-room to convince well-meaning journalists and even scientists (Lewan et al and the good professors) Result: destroy reputations. How dumb can one get, exactly? Depends on your intelligence. The smarter You are, the dumber you possibly can get. The sky is the limit. Overall, these phonies do a profound disservice to the field, which hopefully honestly marches on, with a low budget, low COP, low power, promising little. Be patient, and do'nt believe da hype! Your average oven-heating-plate-temperature is 300degC when really hot. Add that up to the 'Rossi-unit' 10kW, and you get 2000cm^2, which is an area 40x50cm, EVENLY heated up over this area over months/years. Now 600 degC means, that Rossi managed this feat and a bit more. To produce the heat evenly AND retrieve this heat permanently and convert it to something useful. Sorry. This conflicts with my common-sense! To be sure: 'heat' is related to energy density in area or volume, where 'volume' basically computes down to area. Now this is nothing new. The novelty rests in its way of generation, which can be simple or complex. To evenly heat up an area or volume means that the process is simple, homogenous, and well understood. None of the three I see in LENR. But maybe I missed something. Maybe I lack a believer-gene. Is anybody out there who believes this outstanding claim? And why so? Guenther
