I must say you seem to be extraordinarily unlucky. I haven't had an
invalidation from a V crash for over a year. If it is proving this much of
a problem, why not set up a small partition on your hard drive that only
contains your V cache. Then if it invalidates beyond recovery, you just
have to reformat the partition rather than going to the expense of
replacing cartridges.
