I didn't keep the mail... I usually read and delete... but
it was an off-hand comment made by someone within the last
week. NO date or time was implied, just hinted at as "soon"...

Yeah, I know this is correct. : ))))

Now THAT explains a LOT!!!!! I never realized he was in
that category, but as someone just babbled to me, some
programmers have been "using" a version of 4.0 for a while
now... I just had not realized that.

That is wise. I just assumed that the "rough" spots would
be smoothed somewhat... I cannot say I expected it to be a
whole lot better, just something worth fixing.
I often feel that programmers go nuts fixing bugs and then
add 27 "new" features that were not there before, thereby
adding 963 "new" bugs, some of which performed the same
way as the previously squished bugs. : ))))
PageStream often suffers from this syndrome. : (
As do other unnamed Amiga browsers. ;)
I would just be totally happy for some programmer to simply
fix ALL existing bugs in a specific "version", then update,
giving the new "version" a "new" number, and then fix those
before trying anything new. But, I am just an old fuddy duddy.

I don't think I really thought that. See comment above.

Personally, I have never understood all the animosity I read on
various mailing lists regarding MUI. I always thought it was
the bees knees. I have a friend who used to be pretty heavily
into his Amiga... since has become a Windows LAN technician and
hardly ever boots up his Amiga any more, unfortunately... He
could program little things SO quickly with MUI... he loved it,
and convinced me of its strengths. Sometimes, when I am trying
to get something configured, I wish it were NOT so all-encompasing,
but I guess that is part of its strength. I have often gone
almost off my gourd when trying to set up the preferences. I
have given that up mostly now, and just try to get all things set
up with the master preferences. I know I have screwed up a number
of things... I think you helped me sort them out too... and have
learned that a light hand on MUI is best. : ))))

Well, first, I would have to get me a PPC Amiga... and that is
not too likely any more. Most likely, I will just get a Killer
Windows Box like some of those in Maximum PC (the US version), and
then run that Anthelon or whatever it is called on that. : )))
A 450Mhz 68040 sounds pretty good to me... : )))
(That is the equivalency they keep ranting about.)

Once again, thanks for your usual excellent explanation. =
