Yes, those 2 steps are still on my list. I have verified that the release archive on one mirror is indeed the one we voted on and I've checked and compared the checksums with those in the vote thread and those in http://www.apache.org/dist/incubator/vxquery/0.2-incubating/.
Now I've started to merge the changes from the release branch into the master branch. Unfortunately there we a few conflicting changes in the build files, so there a little work to be done there. Once that's done I'll update the website from the master branch and subsequently send out the announcement e-mails.
