Hmmmm,

Not sure what your problem was, Pat. Maybe files created by old software
that wouldn't run on the G4?

Just transferring the data shouldn't be a problem - I made the leap from an
old mac IIvx (68030 processor) direct to a Ti G4 powerbook with no problem
transferring data. It was operating OS9 at the time, but much of the data
has since moved on to my OSX 10.4 G5 iMac.

I am still accessing files created by Excel5 and Word6 on the IIvx (running
OS7) with Excel11 and Word11 on the G5 running OSX 10.4

Having just discovered Abiword, I can even access my old Wordperfect files!
(though it doesn't handle all the formatting 100%)

So, Steven, don't give up just yet!

Cheers
