Sorry, Yes, it was the 1st Generation 2G Iphone that I bought in the US, but I understand that software is now available to hack the 3G now as well. I had to download LibertyX to sync with my Macbook. I am running firmware 1.1.4 as I have not been game to update since it is running so flawlessly as is, but because of this I cannot download Apps from the Itunes store. This is no biggy as there are thousands of native Apps available and so far have been able to find the exact App or another one that does the same thing. Otherwise I have had no problems with the Iphone. So, Ken you can either buy a 2G Iphone on US EBAY which what I did or take your chances with a new 3G, which is what I intend do on my next trip to the US.
