Hi Darrel,
No Darrel, I don't know if the iPhone 3G S will give the same
performance as my present Nokia in the same coverage area.
As I've said previous, I have always been with Telstra as I've found
the coverage when travelling in the country is better than other
carriers.
But, back a few week-ends ago, I was staying in Denmark (at The Chimes
Resort) & I could not get any coverage, but other people with Optus
mobile had full quality.
This amazed all of us, when I mentioned it to the Telstra
Representative, he suggested that we could have been very close to an
Optus Tower ... but did not now why I could not get any reception.
This is the first time I have experienced trouble down south.
Until I purchase an iPhone 3G S I won't know how good the reception
will be, but I expect the same if not better than my Nokia.
Cheers,
Ronni

Ronni,
Interesting reading your dilemma, however do you know if the iPhone
gives the same performance as your present mobile in the same
coverage area.
I use my mobile just for emergencies and I was fortunate enough for
Telstra enabling me to do testing for Next G of various mobiles
(South of Yallingup).
The result was that all mobiles are not the same relative to
reception.
Would be very interested in your comparison, particularly since I
have been asked by locals whether I know.
Regards
Darrel
