Grab is also part of the Preview application, and can be found under File > 
Take Screen Shot (at least it is in Snow Leopard - the exact menu description 
might vary in earlier versions).

The advantage of using it from Preview is that the image instantaneously 
becomes a Preview document, and as such can be annotated, cropped, or adjusted 
in any other way, and saved in a variety of different formats. If you save as 
PDF, further screenshots can be added to the original to form a multipage PDF 
document.
