Found it! The battery has started to swell, metal laminate cover near the battery condition LEDs has begun to lift, it puts pressure on the mouse button below the trackpad and that is what happened.
When I removed the battery, the MacBook Pro started up (didn't know they worked without the battery!) and all is good. so where can I get a MacBook Pro 17" Battery: Battery Model A1189 10.8V 68W Any ideas today would be nice, back to work on Monday and no life there after... If nothing has been altered try Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC) • Shut down the computer. • Disconnect the MagSafe power adapter from the computer, if it's connected. • Remove the battery. • Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds. • Release the power button. • Reconnect the battery and MagSafe power adapter. • Press the power button to turn on the computer.
