Hi Jennifer,

I did not see a reply from Ray to the mailing list.
My reply to you via the WAMUG Mailing list was:

"To be able to install Snow Leopard you require:

A Mac computer with an Intel processor
1GB of memory (but I would recommend at least 2-3GB Memory)

To be able to install Lion you require:

Your Mac must have an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon
processor Choose Apple  > About This Mac and look at what the Processor line
says. Look for Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon.
Anything else—specifically, “Core Duo” (without the 2) or “Core Solo”—and you
won’t be able to run Lion.

RAM: Lion requires a minimum of 2 GB of RAM, but the more RAM you have, the
better your Macʼs performance.
I recommend at 8GB RAM to run Lion successfully.

So from the information you have now supplied below, your iMac7,1 introduced
August 2007 is an Intel Core 2 Duo.

Your options are:
You have plenty of Free Hard Drive space on the iMac.
1. You could install Snow Leopard OS X 10.6 with only 1GB memory, but to run it
successfully I would recommend at least 2-3GB Memory

2.Your iMac7,1 is an ‘Intel Core 2 Duo’ capable of installing Lion OS X 10.7,
but to run it successfully you need more memory installed.

3. Upgrade your iMac to a newer iMac with a faster processor and more memory.

Hope this helps you.

Cheers,
Ronni
