Hi Jennifer

Has Ronni has mentioned, yes you have the options to do it.
Just to add on,..
1. Upgrading the memory and to Snow Leopard (10.6.8) would probably be your
cheapest option and still keep your machine going for another year or two (at
least). Bump up the memory to at least 2GB or even better still take it to 4GB
for not much more. It would have 2x1GB in there now, and they would come out
and 2x2GB would go in to give you a total of 4GB. This is relatively cheap (as
I did the same for another client recently). It would then run Snow Leopard
fine, and work with all the things you have now no problems.

2. Slightly more expensive and a bit more of a "learning curve". Again, you'd
need to increase the memory, plus buying the Lion USB stick to install straight
from 10.5.8 to Lion. Plus, you'd need to make sure you're not running any
software that is PPC based as this won't work under Lion. And, as mention, a
bit of a different learning curve from 10.5.x and 10.6.x.

3. Obviously your most expensive option. Certainly a newer computer would be
"better and faster" and have everything on it. Plus getting your info from the
old machine to the new one and "getting to know Lion".

Either option would work, I guess it just comes down to what you want to spend
etc, and what features or things are needed/wanted/ or used. And based on what
you've mentioned any of the three would do it fine.

Hope that info helps.

Kind regards
Daniel
