Hi Peter,

All you need to do is change your account picture in System Preferences >
Accounts > username > Picture, and Address Book will immediately start using
the new picture on your personal card, as will Mail on your messages.

In Lion OS X 10.7
System Preferences > Users & Groups > Click on the picture you have currently..
it'll show a little dropdown menu..
Same as always (not new to lion), hover over your picture and then click on the
grey arrow on the bottom right corner.

You can either select one of the supplied photos or click "edit picture" and
then "choose" to browse your computer.

If you don't like the selection of pictures offered in System
Preferences>Accounts, and don’t want a photo, just create a plain white square
and drag it to the picture area.

Cheers,
Ronni
