Hi Rosemary,
15.2GB is nowhere near enough available space. Are you running High Sierra?
You need to free up space ASAP, or you will be having problems.

Do you have WhatSize.app version 6.6.3 (which is compatible with High Sierra)?
If not you can download it from this link: https://whatsizemac.com/
WhatSize will show you what is taking up the space on your MBP Hard Drive.

Also did you remove unneeded language localization files on your MBP.
I always remove the unneeded language localization files from my Macs.
I only keep All the English - English (Australia), English (United Kingdom),
English (United States).
If you only ever use English, there is no need to have all the other language
files taking up valuable GBs of space.
I use Monolingual 1.8.0 to remove the thousand of unneeded language
localization files.
You can check it out at this link: https://ingmarstein.github.io/Monolingual/

Run WhatSize 6.6.3 to show you details of the space use.

Cheers,
Ronni
