Thanks for the reply. My sister knows very little about computers and is
scared to mess with it.
Dell did tell her that she could call another number and pay for support -
but it is a brand new computer. She did mention that she would sometimes
get to the desktop that would be empty. Other times she would get the
Install New Hardware Wizard but she didn't know what she was installing.
Very disappointing on Dell's part.

drew's advice is good and if Riva's sister is really technology challenged
may be the best thing to do. I would simply say I had very good support
from Dell (via the India link) when I needed it and the charge was very
reasonable (they tell you first what it will be, it is not the old £1.60
dodge - or whatever the dollar system premium line charge is). At least
that was from the UK.
