What's so silly in it?


A few reasons I can think of:

1)  WO and EOF are part of numerous valuable intellectual property patents that Apple does not want to lose/expose
2)  It requires a HUGE amount of effort to properly open source something, resources I'm sure they'd rather not spend
3)  Hackers would have more of an opportunity to find holes in WO security and therefore, the iTunes Music Store and the Apple Store
