You of course know that you could save yourself a lot of grief by using MacOSX Server where everything is installed and tested by default... It is only $499.

No, it is unfortunately not installed by default on 10.5 client.

Yeah, I hope that's fixed in 5.4.1 - I haven't filed a bug for it. I hope someone else did.
