Follow-up Comment #4, bug #3835 (project wesnoth):

While comment #3 is technically valid, the way it is formulated sounds an
awful lot like a demand, in the style of "why hasn't this been done yet?".

As a polite reminder, please bear in mind that the developers do this for
their own pleasure, out of their own interest. The fact that a bug report is
open for a long time mostly means that no developer has had the time or
interest to look into the issue yet.

An open report typically means just that, and the open _feature requests_
mostly do not need to be re-confirmed, in the form of "bumps". If you want to
confirm whether a _bug_ still exists in a new version, which can be useful
information, simply stating that the bug still appears in version x.y.z
should be enough.

(Also "votes" can be given to the bugs and feature requests, which is more
polite than a bump, although I don't know if anyone actually looks at
these.)

If you have additional information that can be useful to solving a bug, or
implementing a feature request, that can of course always be posted, as well
as patches.
