The "floating labels" have been an option for "years". They only show how hard an enemy was hit, status changes (slow, poison), and so on. No user can influence what is written there. That is why it should be on without an option to disable. What you mean is some multiplayer message.

Correction: custom floating labels are now supported via WML in the [unstore_unit] tag. Might as well leave the option there, IMO.
