It appears that the banner (P948) is the main point of discussion; however, there are other properties available that may be useful as well... Definitely there will be some banners that editors will not want that may be found in Wikidata, so some options may be necessary as well as any default banners to display... I am not sure but it comes to mind that an issue with disambiguation pages and some page mismatches may occur as well...
Hopefully, these would not present insurmountable issues... When I first read about it in WV Traveller's Pub, I wondered if it this could be done by possibly modifying the Lua Module:wikibase to get an entity's property and value. Of course there may be some silly limitations that may not allow this, just a thought... All the best!
