I am in two grant committees, and I can assure that I comment the value of the project and not the sex or the race of the candidate.
I think that a woman would appreciate more that a project is supported because it's a good project than because it is a project submitted by a woman. Anyway the number of the projects focused to reduce the gender gap are not so many, but there are no barriers for submission.
