Multiply the cost of admission $8.50 by a
possible hypothetical 1 million potential pirates for instance who DL
the pirited movie and you've ended up costing LucasFilm and its distro's
a loss of $8,500,000. That's a lot of money to me.
>>
This is assuming the pirates won't also go to the theatre. The die hard fans
will go because you just can't duplicate the experience on a home theatre or
computer screen. Many will even go multiple times - unless the movie sucks.
Many of the pirates just want to be able to say they saw it first. Where a good
quality copy will hurt is DVD sales later.
>>
It isn't fair at all to the movie viewing public who will pay their
earned money to see the most anticipated movie in SW history to
subsidize the high future ticket prices that will be caused by pirates
>>
That's BS. This movie (like so many movies) earn out many times over and there
is no reason, besides greed, to raise ticket prices to cover pirates.
