It takes much less heat to render tapes unusable so such a safe would keep tapes safe for only 30 min. We have a large fire safe in our bedroom for holding all kinds of paper & the riskiest thing we have in there are photo albums. For anything requiring more safety we have a safe deposit box at our bank where I keep CDs, DVDs & tapes that I rotate the contents frequently. Most of the stuff would be of no value to anyone else but to us that's a different story.

The green stuff we of course keep under our mattress. <lol>
