Subject: Guide to Building an Unattended XP Install CD

This site offers a clear how-to guide with separate instructions for beginners, intermediates and advanced users. When completed you'll have an unattended Windows
XP install CD that includes SP2 and all subsequent hot fixes.

I would gladly pay the "mailing charges" if somebody would mail me a XP Updater CD that does to XP what the Security Update CD, February, 2004 did for Windows 98SE and Me. Just write to me off list if you will do this for me. I have and use a Windows XP Home OEM SP 2 slipstreamed CD. I just need to pick it up from there and bring it forward to current.

It is evident that Stephen Bird agrees with me on the legality of using a CD not produced by Microsoft to install Windows where a legal COA with Product Key exists and is used. Otherwise I would have to use the Windows XP Home OEM (without SP 1 or SP2) CD that I originally sold to my first new computer customers who had XP installed, to reinstall their Windows. I don't. I use my CD (a copy) that has SP2 slipstreamed and their Product Key.

If we local computer shops worked together better I would ask one of them to burn me a XP Home Upgrade CD with SP2, a XP Pro OEM with SP2 slipstreamed and a XP Pro Upgrade with SP2 as all of mine either do not have SP 1 or have only SP1.

This is the best reason I know of to own and furnish your media, to install with the latest updates such as SP 2 slipstreamed.

Chuck
