If your website will continue to be hosted by 1and1.com,
you do NOT want to change the nameservers. Only the
MX record needs to be changed, and that is usually just a
single server name. Where 1and1.com insists that two names must be entered must the nameserver field.
The priority number is arbitrary when there is only one
MX server; it can be anything from 0 to 99.

----- Original Message ----- I got a Domain from 1&1. With a WEB site and single E-mail.
1&1 will not allow the "WEB servers" to be moved from this plan.
The plan sucks, so I contacted E-Rice and they said I could
use JUST the E-mail portion of their plan. (They don't seem to
sell Domains or I might have had "one stop" shopping...)
I was trying to get the MX record (email server names) from E-Rice
to put into my 1&1 host DNS control panel...
I think they closed and went home before we finished...
They only gave me one name and 1&1 requires two.
