'morning to you too... We're getting slammed a little more than usual, but that's how school normally starts... a little more slamming every year :)
I can tell you that here at UTD, we are on the verge of an 802.1x rollout. It's scheduled to happen during the Christmas break currently. It will be for our entire wireless LAN, including any guest access. > Are you using PEAP or EAP-TLS? Self sign certs if TLS? Current plans use EAP-TLS with a self-signed root cert that we will have the clients load onto their clients. I would like to write a utility to automate the process of configuring the wireless adapter and loading the certs for WinXP clients before we actually do the rollout. > What about OS-X and other non XP clients? Site license from > Meetinghouse? That's the plan. Windows 2000 SP4 does now include the MS 802.1x client though. The one disadvantage, though, is that it does not configure the wireless settings inside the OS like XP does. It's just a .1x client as opposed to the full Wireless Zero Config service. > hope we can have a lively thread on this topic. As do I :) -- --Mike -------------------------------- Michael Griego Wireless Network Administrator University of Texas at Dallas ********** Participation and subscription information for this EDUCAUSE Constituent Group discussion list can be found at http://www.educause.edu/cg/.
