I agree with both of you. Actually I think it is OK to have this patch in now. As already mentioned, WMs *may* ignore the event, thus we're not doing anything bad here. However we all seem to agree that a smarter fix would be preferrable. If we get this TODO done in the next few days the result will be even better.
