That's what I thought, thanks (I didn't think I was *that* rusty). I
checked and that file is updating, but nothing is getting restored after
I cycle. Another detail, I am starting windowmaker from slim
(/usr/local/bin/wmaker), but using plain old startx didn't help.
Also not sure it matters, but all of the applications in question
(firefox, tbird, Terminal, pidgin) are docked ....
