So are you saying that wmaker-0.92.0+ (the "last" one) works for you
and that wmaker-0.95.2 doesn't?

If that's the case then a guaranteed method to find the culprit
is to use 'git bisect' (much better than reading the diff!)

You just do something like this

git bisect start
git bisect wmaker-0.92.0+ good
git bisect wmaker-0.95.2 bad

and then git will choose the middle point between those. Compile that
and test it. If it is good you type

git bisect good

if it's not you type

git bisect bad

and do like this until git nails down the one commit which made it
break things for you. The whole process should take at most 30 minutes.

I use xdm and I have a line in my .xinitrc which says

exec /usr/local/bin/wmaker
