Public, and I work with a small team of specialists.

As far as I see it, the public sector is fairly serious and strong transferable competencies are demanded from you. As such you tend to get less nonsense communication with clients, you're constantly developing a more honest expertise, and you've got more of a record in the area.

Freelance commercial work looks more exciting and higher-paid, but a lot less reliable in terms of regularity and client attitudes. At least in the near future I can't imagine relying on commercial work as my chief income.
