I'm using a softrock RXTX and dttsp plus sdr-shell. I've set the DSP filter to 0-4000Hz. The noise floor in wsjt-x wide graph looks pretty flat at the LF end. Not sure what the vertical calibration is on the spectrum though.

Will try your idea of an offset.

You are probably seeing audio roll off. I have the same problem so I tune
my radio down 500Hz to ensure I pick up all the low offset signals.
I keep the WSJT-X waterfall showing 0-4800Hz (so it's really -500 to 4300
offset from the normal freq) and I see signals on both ends of it now. But
my max SSB transmit BW is 4000Hz so any signals above 4500 offset I have to
tune my radio back up 500Hz so I can transmit.

Subject: [wsjt-devel] Lower frequency limit

What is the lowest baseband frequency that wsjt-x will decode down to?

I have seen instances on the wide graph where signals fail to decode at <
250Hz.
