Hello Iban, Pulseaudio support is part of Qt. There is no pulseaudio code in WSJT-X. Most likely your Qt instalation was not compiled with pulseaudio support or pulseaudio was not detected during compilation of the Qt libs.
I agree with you 100% on the audio baseband IQ via network. There are already some SDR hardware implementing it (Flex, HPSDR, Cloud-IQ, etc). Unfortunately there isn't a standard yet. Each vendor is implementing their own solution. Hopefully it is just a matter of time until the tecnology converges.
