Hello, Excuse the excessive posting, i've got no site available for such stuff, legally... >:) but maybe someone is interested ?
Since i use it for some moths now, and it seems to work sufficiently, i dare to
send you my bashed purge-wrapper-tool, which allows a user to manage a
seperate 'purge.conf' file via her galeon browser bookmarks.
You can modify the script for other browsers / bookmark file types easily.
btw. I know that most of you can hack such yourself.
But time's rare, ususally, so why not contribute just my working time....
I hold 636 bookmarks now, and i like to manage wwwoffle URLs because
i like to use the browsers bookmark quicksearch filter and its bookmark editor,
and my bookmarks are hierarchically arranged up to 5 leves deep, and i don't
want to do the work twice.
All details are explained in the script headers (i hope).
I use to start a run with a desktop launcher command like:
multi-gnome-terminal -e wwwofflebook_ui --interactive
Internally, it's split into 2 scripts:
The bookmark merger, which extracts the domain names from the browser bookamrks
(note that it works on complete domains only) and the interactive purge UI
(with a silent option).* Uhm...perhaps it's more comprehensive if i attach a
sample purge.conf ? ok, this is just an excerpt - just some interesting :))
links. You'll see the rationale: Only those listed in the 'static section' do
expire at all. Anything you don't explicitly mention there, will be *hold* as
long as there exists any bookmark in the browser.
Have fun

*) I use to place the scripts in /usr/local/bin which should be in the user's
path. Actually, i place all my scripts in /root/Scripts/ and symlink
the public ones.
