First guess.

wwwoffle 2.8c (and i guess 2.7 also) on a debian appears to install two symlinks,
(1) /var/cache/wwwoffle/search/namazu/conf --> /etc/wwwoffle/namazu
and
(2) /var/cache/wwwoffle/search/namazu/scripts --> /usr/share/wwwoffle/search/namazu

As i know from your previous mails, you imported the debian /var/cache/wwwoffle from
Redhat,
and i guess you just copied the whole cache over.
Now it wouldn't work if you copied 'symlinks' as is if redhat didn't configure it
exactly the same way. Neither if you 'regular' copied (content rather than the symlink
itself) for the same reason. You would have taken over the redhat namazu configuration
in (2) in this case, for example.

I suggest to first _purge_ and then reinstall namazu.
I'd fix the two links above anyway since i don't know what exactly a purge script will
do when trying to remove a symlink which isn't one by chance.

Anyway, maybe i'm completely wrong. Just my 5 c.

What about this, Felix ? Dan experienced some really ugly things, in the past.
Do you think it's worth to install namazu at this point (woody) ?
At least you should look for backports on apt-get.org.
