There is another issue corresponding to the water ballast thematic:

If you use an external polar, the analysis page in XCSoar shows a completely different picture.

In this case you only see the dry mass of the glider which is given in the polar file.

Unfortunately you do not see the wing load which you normally see on that screen.

With an individual polar it would also very nice to know that value at different water ballasts because that value is used at a lot of other instruments like for example the Zander vario.

In order to get this wing load value, it would be possible to supplement the polar file with the value of the wing area as it is done in the original polar dates of XCSoar.

In my mind it would be much more comfortable, if the look and feel of individual polars would not differ from the standard polars.
