Subject: [Fwd: RFC: XML::Xalan (was: Re: perl/xalan)]

Hi Dirk,

I'm working on a Perl binding to Xalan C++, and it will be made
available under GPL/Artistic license.
Is it fine for me to use the XML::Xalan namespace?
And do I have to include the Apache Software License quotation in the
source code,
like one in XML::Xerces?

rgds,
Edwin.

Ok, I've just started working on it. Currently it's on
http://edwin.or.id/~edwin/XML-Xalan-0.03.tar.gz
It covers interface to XalanTransformer class, which seems to be pretty
stable, but with a bit limited usability.
Therefore I'm working on another class (not finished yet) which aims to
provide easy-to-use interface while still retaining useful and desirable
features such as compiled stylesheet, runtime parameter setting, DOM
input/output.

Also I'd like to make sure that it's okay to use XML::Xalan as the
namespace.
The Apache software license seems to be very restrictive on such issue,
as it states:
 4. The names "Xalan" and "Apache Software Foundation" must
 * not be used to endorse or promote products derived from this
 * software without prior written permission. For written
 * permission, please contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

rgds,
Edwin.
