Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but using a SMP machine for 
xmame is kind of a waste since its single threaded. I think you may want to 
just look at getting a newer/faster mobo+cpu. You can get a 1gig celeron for 
like $70 or so, and a 815E mobo for like $100, and most likely be able to 
re-use your ram. I have a p3-800 and prolly 95%-98% of the games run almost 
perfect.

Nothing speeds up emulation like a faster processor.
