Yes, you'll get the security updates from the mainline Ubuntu still (Xubuntu has the same repositories), but Xubuntu (and mostly Xfce) specific packages won't be updated any more. The risk that those packages have some sort of a major bug or a security flaw is small, but you still should be aware of that risk. Also, you'll no longer get a support through the official Xubuntu
channels (e.g. IRC, mailing lists) regarding the Xubuntu / Xfce
specific issues. The response would probably be something like
