No, I don't think so. MX is not new. I was writing about it 3 or 4 years ago.

Eventually stumbled upon Xubuntu... and the rest, as the saying goes, is history. Love it, runs in all the hardware I throw it into and any glitch that occasionally happens, gets quickly sorted out by just chatting with the community... someone always has a solution.

Fair enough.

MX is also good -- a systemd-free Debian with Xfce. Smaller, faster, lighter, _much_ better system admin tools than Ubuntu or Debian.

But bottom line is... xubuntu is a fabulous distro that does what it says in the tin and I personally haven't come accross a laptop or pc or raspberry or what-have-you, that won't take it and run it happily.

Can't argue. I like it a lot. My current go-to is Ubuntu Unity but Xubuntu is one of my system-rescue standbys.
