Yes. We want to port DRI for AMD ATI Radeon. We have implementation
for Linux and we have to change it to work on OpenSolaris.

Thank you for your interest. If you want to join our small but
growing community please sign up to discuss at lists.auroraux.org
mailing list. It is running under Mailman software and we establish
it there because it was much easier for communication and development.
After we achieve some results we'll announce it and offer to os.o
community and to adequate project.

So far, we are in process of intensive communication and
organisation. We exchange ideas in order to make some conclusion
for further work. I think that for three days of our existence
we already concluded what we need to do, and now we discuss
design approach how to do that. It looks like that our main problem
is very old implementation of DRI in ON Consolidation. First,
we need to extract it in some way and then to reorganise code,
since this implementation is very old. Current DRI code base is
completely reorganised and has been split into two parts - one
is pure .so library and other is kernel module.

Our general approach is to make something that 'just works'. After
that we'll optimize our porting DRI software for OpenSolaris kernel
(SunOS). If you have experience you are more then welcome to join us!

Uros Nedic
Leader of DRI Porting project for ATI Chipsets.

Subject: Re: [xwin-discuss] [driver-discuss] I would like to help porting

So, is the focus to get the current Radeon DRI driver model working??? Is it
to just bring things up to par to the ATI Radeon on Linux/BSD
implementations?
