Dear Members

When do lies become truth? The answer maybe simple; when one tries to
deceive his/her audience.

Perhaps that may be the easiest and simplest way to answer the question and
I hasten to add, describe the appalling conduct of a supposed "young
communist" high up in the hierarchy of the Young Communist League (YCL). I
refer in this case; the deceitful messages conveyed to an innocent mourning
audience at the funeral of the late SASCO DSG Kgomoco Mogoere this Saturday
in Bloemfontein. May his soul rest in peace!

The other way to respond to this question is to explain for the benefit of
those who were not part of the innocent audience and those who were, what in
one's view is truth. Truth is established when one can support his /her
claims with verified material facts and evidence. For instance, if I say: in
order for a human being to be certified dead, he/she must cease to breath,
the heart must stop functioning and the brain must also stop, then I need to
prove that indeed when such happens to a human body, the person is indeed
dead. But it cannot be truth simply because I say so. If I tell the truth I
must back up my claims; lest my statements be regarded by the critical
listener as pure hot hot air!

Mr Nkwanyana the "Young Communist", went on to the podium like a spirited
high priest overwhelmed by the holy ghost to tell lies about previous
leadership collectives of SASCO. Instead of maximally using the platform to
celebrate the fallen comrade and teach people about important things he
chose to do the opposite: He chose lies instead of truth!

Mr Nkwanyana "Young Communist" who lies not for the first time, said many
infactual things about the previous leadership collectives of SASCO before
the current one as elected in Umthatha last year. Among other incorrect and
infactual things in quite a strange manner at the wrong time. Mr Nkwanyana
the "Young Communist" says: "the previous leadership collectives of SASCO
did not serve SASCO well, that when it was at helm of the organisation SASCO
ceased to be what it used to be, each time when SASCO issued a media
statement people would panic because wrong things would be said" and he
concludes by making a comparison that "the current leadership is the correct
one, one that Kgomotso fought to bring into office and I'm certain that this
leadership will lead us well". This is what Mr Nkwanyana the "Young
Communist" says.

In what way did the previous leadership collectives fail or not serve SASCO
well? In what way did SASCO change from what it used to be, in fact what was
it like in the past? Which media statement/s and in what context did SASCO
get misrepresented during those times? In what way is the current leadership
different from previous ones? Mr Nkwanyana does not say further than to
believe in his mind that because he says it, then it so. And as the audience
we are left with the impression that like the priest in the church, because
he says Jesus is coming then indeed we must wait for Him because indeed the
priest says He is coming!

In my view the lies of Mr Nkwanyana the "Young Communist" are just what they
are: lies. No matter how many times they may be repeated or heard, they wont
transform into truths. He missed a grand opportunity of attracting the young
people in the audience with ideas about socialism so that they may join the
YCL and rather he chose to feed them with lies and lies about another
organisation of which he claims to be a former member of. This was extremely
reckless and factional. To present the current leadership of SASCO before
its membership as the "correct" one compared to the previous leadership
collectives is to divide SASCO. Nothing can be so dispicable as to hear
another PYA leader speak so recklessly and so factionally about a sister
organisation. Instead of taking part constructively in the life and
development of SASCO as an organisation, he chooses to participate
factionally by announcing publicly incorrect things at the wrong time.

Critique and critical thinking is encouraged and most welcome but its
content and form must equally match the ambition of the speaker or author.
One must not present untruths as truth. One must not claim to know when he
does not know. One must search for truth in order to speak the truth and
speak with authority. For now, Mr Nkwanyana the "Young Communist" does
not satisfy the slightest test for verification of what he said. He scores a
shameful zero.

Mr Nwanyana the "Young Communist" typical of a coward, chose a funeral
platform wherein debates are taboo to tell the lies. He knew very well that
nobody could respond for the very fact that it would be strange to debate in
a funeral. Perhaps Mr Nkwanyana the "Young Communist" will next time choose
an appropriate platform to raise his fictitious views. But I wonder if
anyone will be listening since he has proven to be a liar more than once.

When do lies become truth? Could it be that just like in the case of Mr
Nkwanyana the "Young Communist" the lies become truth when someone intends
to deceive?

Leaders must stop abusing their positions of privilege!

Maybe!
