Unfortunately the current answer is NO. I might have to discuss this internally to see what IONA's future plans might be around this topic.

I can certainly understand why Yoko would benefit from providing an IDL compiler. Probably this is most required by Harmony than anything else. Is that accurate?

What is the current status of Harmony?

We're trucking right along. Our guess is that we have coverage of > 70% of the Java SE 5 API with yesterdays contribution of Swing/AWT. We have the start of a modern VM.

It's far from an easy project, but we're having fun.

What version of JSE does Harmony intend to provide/implement?

Java SE 5

We do not currently have an IDL compiler. I think that getting one should have a high priority.

Is IONA going to open source an IDL compiler? It would really be appreciated if you guys could come up with an answer to this. I fully realise you may have your reasons (licensing etc.) for not open sourcing your IDL compiler.

We need the IDL compiler to supply it to our future users, for inclusion in the Harmony project and to compile the OMG specs.

Best regards,
Anders
