Hi all,

As you all know that we are moving to YIS-2 from the current YIS version. We are going to have a similar tool like YaST to manage Yoper.

At present - Tobias, myself and LinuxUser are in the YIS team. You can find the information in the Wiki.

This mail is regarding discussing ideas to incorporate in the Pre Installtion Setup of Yoper Installer.

The YIS is divided into two portions,
1) Pre Installation Setup
2) Post Installation Setup

Pre Installation Setup
==================

Here, as of now we have decided to have these sections,

1) Disclaimer Section,
2) Partition Setup, and
3) Installation

The Checking of Media would be done before starting the installation program as there is no use to find that CD has errors after invoking the Installer program.

Points to Discuss
-------------------------
1) Should QtParted be used or do we have to have our program to perform the partition setup?
2) Should we support the installer being loaded in modes 800*600 or 1024*768 or any one?
3) Do we need to add support for /usr, /var , /tmp etc., separate partitions support or stay as how we do now?

Please pour in your suggestions and i wish this discussion could end in this weekend as i can proceed towards the GUI development.

Thank You.
