I'm trying to export my Entourage 12.2.7 calendar to iCal 4.0.3, and then set iCal to sync with MobileMe and my iPhone. In iCal, I selected
File > Import > Import from Entourage Initial inspection shows that appointments, all-day events, and repeating events look correct in iCal. But none of my reminders were carried over into iCal. In many of my Entourage calendar entries, I selected the Remind checkbox and set a time for popping a reminder window. In iCal, it appears that this function is called "Alarms". The Alarms are not present in the imported events. Is this normal, or did I do something wrong? AppleCare phone support had no answer. They referred me to MobileMe support via chat. The MobileMe rep told me that it was a Microsoft issue. He/she also told me that my iCal-MobileMe sync might not work correctly, because the data was imported from Entourage. Note that I have not yet initialized the sync of iCal and MobileMe, nor edited events in iCal. I do not have sync services enabled for Entourage calendar data. I do not want to sync my Entourage calendar with MobileMe. I just want to export the data to iCal and then use iCal as my calendar. Is this possible? Or is the Apple chat rep correct, and the imported Entourage calendar not compatible with MobileMe sync? Should I just delete the Entourage calendar data from iCal and start from scratch? Maybe this query is off-topic for this list.
