None of the disappearing/reappearing messages were from mailing lists. Nor should they have triggered any other rule or spam fiter.
Yes, I have noticed that the actions of the MLM are complicated when running on an IMAP account. I have the MLM configured so it moves list messages into separate folders for each list. The IMAP account that I use for mailing lists is configured to keep copies of messages on both server and client. So when a list message arrives in the Entourage IMAP inbox, it gets copied back to a different folder on the server, copied to a different folder in Entourage, and the original message is moved to the trash folder in Entourage. Note: I may have the order of those events mixed up, and I don't know whether copies or moves are done. Both of my main mail accounts are IMAP now. Since I work on three different Macs and an iPhone, keeping things in sync with POP accounts was a hassle.
