The documentation found here:
www.zenoss.com/community/docs/howtos/create-modify-nagios-templates/
describes the process of setting up a command, but fails to explain how to
capture and use the data returned. At the end of the article it states:
"This completes the setup and configuration of a Nagios style plugin. Please refer
to the admin guide for specifics on setting up datapoints, thresholds and graphs to keep
track of your data over time."
I couldn't find any explanation of the format that zenoss expects back from the
command. All though the document above is a great guide, I would like a little
more information.
Example:
check_ping returns:
PING OK - Packet loss = 0%, RTA = 0.38 ms
How do you use these values to:
1. Use the "OK" or "Warning" or "Critical" as a status
2. Use the Packet loss = 0% as a datapoint
3. Use RTA = 0.38 ms as a datapoint
Has anyone written any further instructions on implementing nagios plugins in a
Zenoss Env?
