I guess I got it backwards. mega_sas and 1078 are x86-only, need lsiutil/MegaCli/whatever blob and use LSI-labeled disks that don't move between controllers easily, but driver comes with source. mpt and 1068 are x86/sparc, use plain moveable disks not LSI RAID0's, but have a proprietary driver. I'm sorry---I'm only making it worse.
