During my testing, for sequential reads using 6 disks, I got these numbers:
        (normalized times performance of a single disk)
        Stripe of 3 mirrors: 10.89
        Raidz 6disks:  9.84
        Raidz2 6disks: 7.17
Where any number >2 would max out a GigE.

The main performance advantage of the stripe of mirrors is in the random
reads, which aren't very significant for Jason's case.
