"He often stated that he expected that his role, at most, as the Master's eldest grandson, was to help with the election of the Universal House of Justice. Therefore, until 1921 when W&T was read, there was nothing whatsoever to suggest that there was relationship between the Aghsan and the House."
Dear Ahang, That's not how I recall his comments. My recollection is that he expected to *convene* the House of Justice, not just help with its election. I take this to mean that he might very well have expected to chair it, but that the much broader functions of the Guardianship came as a surprise to him. warmest, Susan __________________________________________________ You are subscribed to Baha'i Studies as: mailto:archive@mail-archive.com To unsubscribe, send a blank email to mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] To subscribe, use subscribe bahai-st in the message body to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Baha'i Studies is available through the following: Mail - mailto:bahai-st@list.jccc.edu Web - http://list.jccc.edu/read/?forum=bahai-st News - news://list.jccc.edu/bahai-st Public - http://www.escribe.com/religion/bahaist Old Public - http://www.mail-archive.com/bahai-st@list.jccc.net New Public - http://www.mail-archive.com/bahai-st@list.jccc.edu
