It sounds like you are asking your MTA to do a relay when you are outside your
LAN, and postfix will not allow that by default. ( A good thing most of the
time.) You probably need to look at your configuration of postfix and see if
you can allow it to just relay from you.

It is different but I submit it is much better. When I'm forced to use a

the actual filesystem limit for the reiserfs currently shipping is 16TB.
I have a number of files (large mpegs) that are stored on a reiserfs partition
of a Mandrake 8.2 box. Many of them are over 5GB.

It doesn't sound like a 'service' problem. (Unless you are running iptables
with some new rule blocking access)
kmail pulls mail as a client, from tiscali's mail server in this case. The
problem may be with them...

create an 'open relay', although
you are free to tighten it down even more once you get it going.

address. If it can't find something by name (www.google.com) but it can by IP
(216.239.51.99) then DNS is your problem.
If it can't ping either one, you have deeper problems yet
